How to Curl Your Hair With A Flat Iron

I had a request a couple weeks ago for a tutorial on how I curl my hair since it's a little shorter and this person has a similar length.
I use a flat iron to curl my hair...I think it holds the curl longer and it also doesn't give you that tight ringlet look that a curling iron can give (on short hair! long hair I used a curling iron and flat iron)

Learning to curl your hair with a flat iron can be tricky....but don't get discouraged it honestly takes practice!  You will get faster over time.

Please excuse the creepy pictures....I did them myself on a tripod with a timer.
It was weird.
so here we go!

I always like to curl my hair when it is dirty (I'm talking two or three days dirty...in my case 5? eek)
or after I have showered and slept on my hair, then it's already kinda wavy. Either way works.
Clean hair doesn't hold curl as long just FYI

If you prefer you can spray your hair before hand with thermal spray ( i did not)

Continue this process around the head, pulling hair from the back around to the side

Note:
do not try curling hair upwards like you do with a curling iron...it will not work

You are SO pretty and your hair is gorgeous!. I also curl my hair withmy straightener, but it doesn't come out as pretty as yours!. I think it might be a bit shorter than yours and I might have more layers....I'm not sure.
Great job and great post :)

I wanted to tell you that I love this post for multiple reasons...a)the lighting makes you look amazing. Believe it or not, but that bathroom lighting is actually very flattering. b)I do not know how to do my hair, so this is very informative and helpful and c) yes, you are making some great faces. xoxo

You are gorgeous!! I love your hair and I have yet to master the curl or wave with my flat iron. I think it might be because I'm keeping my hair clean? Seriously, how do you go so many days without washing it?? Do you wear a shower cap? Doesn't your hair get greasy and dirty looking? I really need to start doing different things with my hair.
