Let's just say this has been an awesome summer. We are apparently making up for the past two or something...I don't know.
But we are soaking it in and living it up.
Early August Mason and I were able to head up to Bear Lake (one of our favorite spots) with my family and spend some time at my grandparents cabin. Sam came later in the week and spent the weekend with us. Then...because we are so lucky...the following week Sam's side of the family were coming up, and we all rented condos at Ideal Beach in Bear Lake for another WEEK. Yes that's right folks...Mason and I were in Bear for two weeks. I thought it would get old...but being the per ma-vacationer that I am...we of course loved every minute of it.
I can't think of a better place to have spent two weeks with family. The crystal blue water, sandy beaches, bike rides, fresh raspberry shakes, tennis games, and lots of food. Does that sound like heaven or what?! Mason and I even visited the Minnetonka Caves one day. Just the two of us...little adventurers. He LOVED the caves and still talks about them! At the end of the tour (think 882 stairs, 441 that I had to carry Mason up) they turn off all of the lights in the cave, it's pretty awesome and kinda freaky at the same time. Mason loved/hated it...and so that is of course the part he remembers most.
It was an amazing vacation, lots of memories were made, and lots of laughs were had. I would go back tomorrow if I could but apparently there is thing called life and responsibility. Go figure.

bear lake NEVER gets old. we only got a (teeny tiny) two days up there this summer :( not nearly long enough. love it!
Love love these photos!! We had such a great time with you guys! Lottie and Mase are so cute together...the pic of them running into the water is my fav. Oh, and I can't agree with you more on your random thought about mommy bloggers who seem to be superhuman. I stopped looking at most blogs for that very reason! It makes you feel inadequate...cause that is not real life, it's pure show!! that's one of the great things about your blog, you are so real and honest! You are talented and crafty and darling and stylish, but you're not afraid to admit things aren't always perfect!! Love you!!
